The focus of this exhibition by British artist of Iranian origin Reza Aramesh is Study of Sweatcloth as an Object of Desire: 207 men’s underpants in Carrara marble scattered across the floor of the Church. By highlighting the absence of the body, the discarded underwear effectively draws attention to it as a political space, victim of acts of violence and conquest.
Aramesh seeks to preserve the integrity of in visible lives lost due to modern acts of warfare and terror, transforming them into powerful sculptural symbols.
