With his graphite and coloured pencil drawings, embroidery, tapestry and ceramics, this South Korean artist strives to give space to personal experiences which are conventionally excluded from the dominant perspective. At the centre of his work we find counter-narratives and alternative versions of segments of art history that have intertwined with, for example, queerness, engaging Kang in projects that reflect the values of participation, education and shared artistic experience.
