MARIA POLO

A painter, designer and engraver, Maria Polo studied at the Art Institute in Venice and in 1959 arrived in Brazil, where she began to work and to exhibit in important galleries. In the 1970s she began designing ceramics and tiles and making large stained glass windows. Her painting is violent and profound, constructed out of blocks of bright and powerful colors.
