Inspector Pooja is dispatched from the capital Kathmandu to a small town in Nepal to investigate the kidnapping of two children. Upon her arrival, she encounters significant obstacles due to local tensions and protests. She seeks assistance from a local policewoman, Mamata, who helps her with the investigation. Pooja faces numerous challenges, grappling with discrimination and the misogyny prevalent in Nepalese society.

Deepak Rauniyar

Deepak Rauniyar, born in 1978, is a Nepalese writer, screenwriter, and director. He made his international debut in 2012 with Highway, which was showcased at the Berlinale. His second film, White Sun (2016), was nominated for Best Asian Feature Film at the Singapore International Film Festival. Other notable works by Rauniyar include Seto Surya (2016), Four Nights (2022), and Chaukaith (2008).
