Fascinating score, almost a baroque lament that allows so much space for silence as the arrival place of a waiting, or perhaps, better, a journey in surplace. The one on Sept. 28 will be the Italian premiere of Skull, for ensemble of 14 instruments by Rebecca Saunders, with Ensemble Modern (Silver Lion 2024) performing it.
