Giacomo Loprieno conducts the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra in a new tribute to Ennio Morricone organised by Veneto Jazz in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto. “Discovering Morricone” is not just a concert, but a journey of words, suggestions and solo performances that guide the audience through the decades that made Italian and international cinema and music great. The setlist includes many new titles (Canone Inverso, Gli Intoccabili, Sacco e Vanzetti, La Califfa, Il segreto del Sahara), with arrangements that enhance their extraordinary beauty. Soloists, first parts of important Italian theatres and symphonic institutions, such as Maestro Ferdinando Vietti’s cello and Maestro Stefano Benedetti’s trumpet, will take turns on stage. Special guests will be soprano Anna Delfino, a favourite of European opera audiences, who will revive the emotion of Deborah’s Theme from ‘Once Upon a Time in America’, and Circle du Soleil violinist Attila Simon, who will perform the solo from Love Affair. Accompanying the audience by giving voice to the characters and settings will be the skill of Andrea Bartolomeo actor, director and theatre teacher. The Ensemble Symphony Orchestra approaches Morricone’s music after important national and international collaborations: Mario Biondi, Max Gazzè, Franco Battiato, Giovanni Allevi, Renato Zero, Francesco Renga, Pooh, Baustelle, PFM, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith, Luis Bacalov. With more than six hundred concerts in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Holland, France, Austria, the UK and Belgium, the orchestra presents a great versatility and focus on all kinds of music, with a repertoire ranging from the best-known opera arias to world-famous film soundtracks. This is the right line-up to be accompanied on the incredible journey through melodies that have remained in the collective memory of generations, with the evocative power of 400 soundtracks, 70 million records sold worldwide, six nominations and two Oscar wins, three Grammys, four Golden Globes and a Golden Lion that make Ennio Morricone a giant of music of all time.
