Violinist Iris Scialom and pianist Antonin Bonnet have been working together only since 2021, fresh out of the Paris Conservatory, but they already have quite a few hits under their belt, including the prestigious Premio Annarosa Taddei and the Stasys Vainiuˉnas, showing how their harmony goes beyond the music they make. Their taste veers towards chamber music and as duo Arborescence, they will be in Venice at Palazzetto Bru Zane with a rich, intense, elevating selection of post-Romantic music for piano and violin. The expressiveness of Georges Enesco’s and Guillame Lekeu’s sonatas, organic units of essential fin-de-siècle music, contrasts Charlotte Sohy’s Thème varié, a long, powerful canto that is certain to enthral the audience with its beautiful lyricism.
