Through Free Books Day, the Giorgio Cini Foundation celebrates its long history of publishing activities: available items include exhibition and project catalogs, scientific research books in the fields of art, music, history, and theater, as well as a wide selection of posters that have accompanied cultural initiatives held on the island.
The latest edition of Free Books Day in 2024 virtually closed the annual activities of the Giorgio Cini Foundation by attracting hundreds of book lovers to the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Now the Foundation kicks off the new year with a special edition on Friday, January 24, when the Sala della Tipografia (Printing Room) will once again open its doors from 12 PM to 2 PM. With a symbolic contribution of ten euros, participants can purchase a cotton tote bag and fill it with any titles available. Registration on the Eventbrite platform is required for access.
This special edition of Free Books Day also announces the 2025 Cini Ambassador program, which offers early access to exhibitions and events, the discovery of archives and secret locations of the Foundation, discounted admission to the museums of the Dorsoduro Museum Mile, and free entry to one of the concerts at the ‘Lo Squero’ Auditorium.
