Sergio Monari’s artistic investigation explores Greco-Roman classicism to critically reinterpret contemporary society. His sculptures, inspired by the ideal of beauty and the social function of myth in antiquity, highlight today’s inability to recognize their significance. Universal themes such as love, glory, war, and death take shape in works that transform the ground floor of the Museo Fortuny into a theatrical stage. Monari’s sculptural narrative, intense and provocative, invites us to rediscover the spiritual dimension and our connection to classical culture, engaging in a dialogue that also recalls the legacy of Mariano Fortuny. The exhibition is curated by Niccolò Lucarelli and Chiara Squarcina.
