Artist Tatiana Trouvé’s first personal exhibition in Italy will open on April 6 at Palazzo Grassi. The exhibition, curated by Caroline Bourgeois and James Lingwood, is part of the carte blanche series, an exhibition project that allows participating artists to make the majestic Venetian palazzo their own. The Strange Life of Things is a key to understand Trouvé’s art world, a place where matter seems to resonate with life, vibrating in the dimensions of memory, dream, and reality. Her sculptures, drawings, and immersive installations compose an original, evocative dimension where objects are loaded with unexpected meanings and challenge the audience’s conventional perception. At the core of Tatiana Trouvé’s art is a reflection on the relationship between space and time. She works with different materials – marble, bronze, wood, paper… – and turns everyday objects into enigmatic presence. Her art is imbued with a sense of expectation and will make us think of the places of memory, hybrid spaces where time dilates into dreamworld.
