Born in a Russian musical family, Maria and Nathalia Milstein grew up in an environment where making music together was an everyday given. Included in the programme of The World of César Franck festival, the Milsteins will bring to Palazzetto Bru Zane a masterpiece by the Belgian composer, a Sonata for piano and violin of 1886, that Franck dedicated to Eugène Ysaÿe and that grew to become a cornerstone of French chamber music in the late 1800s. We will also listen to pieces by Lili Boulanger and Mel Bonis, who studied with Franck at the Conservatory in Paris.
