Paul Javal, a mystery writer is called upon by an American producer, Prokosch, to script a film about the Odyssey. The film is supposed to be directed by the famous Fritz Lang. The producer makes no secret of his assiduous courtship of Emilia, the writer’s young wife. This causes a definitive break between the two spouses. Emilia, on her way back to Rome in the producer’s company, however, dies miserably in a car accident in the producer’s blazing Alfa.
