Capsule Shanghai has chosen the Year of the Dragon to open its new space in Venice and its first international venue: Capsule Venice. Founded in 2016 by experienced Italian gallerist and long-time China resident Enrico Polato and located in the center of the French Concession in Shanghai, the gallery works mainly with emerging Chinese and international artists who are redefining contemporary art with their practices. While the beating heart and headquarters of the gallery remains in Shanghai, Enrico Polato has chosen the Giorgio and Armanda Marchesani Foundation in Dorsoduro as the gallery’s Venetian home for 2024. Featuring a large building with windows overlooking a canal on one side and a garden on the other, this green oasis suspended in time is well-suited to hosting exhibitions and cultural events and offering a site for interactive experiences.
