Dario Carnovale on piano, Lorenzo Conte on double bass, and Marco Soldà on drums and percussion inaugurate the new Veneto Jazz& review: between February and April, 13 appointments with many young up-and-coming and established musicians, indicating the new frontiers of international music which, indeed, has no frontiers but open spaces where to experiment with different influences, from electronic to pop, from Latin to ethnic music. Classical but always topical in the history of jazz, the piano trio is also the preferred dimension of Sicilian-born pianist Dario Carnovale, leader of this new project with a formidable rhythm section. In this project, the chosen direction is that of a sound closer to the contemporary New York jazz scene with constant reference to tradition through the reworking of pieces selected from the American song book and Carnovale’s own original pieces.
