BELGIUM

By blending art, architecture, typography, and cartography, the collective Petticoat Government creates a scenario where giant figures from the folklore of various communities in Belgium, France, and Spain come to life. Their ‘performative journeys’ towards Italy made stops at the Resia Pass and Padua last March. During the Biennale these giants will animate the Belgian Pavilion before returning to Charleroi and Dunkirk in 2025, injecting a joyful disruption into reality along their way. The project theme focuses on the crossing and overcoming of geographical and symbolic boundaries.
