Always attentive to the representation of crossing points, stage and film set designer Aleksandar Denić reminds us that in addition to the official history of memory, there is an unofficial history of remembrance. His installation is housed in a Pavilion that still bears the monumental inscription “Jugoslavia” on its façade, a nation that dissolved following the conflicts of the early 1990s. In this building, which therefore takes on a symbolic role rather than a purely representative one, Denić recreates an environment that could exist in any place, making one feel like a stranger in one’s own country.
