An exhibition that explores the complex interaction between humans and nature, focusing on the evolution of the concept of “otherness”. Divided into four imaginary rooms, each representing different times in Tanzania’s history – from the late 19th century to the 21st century, up to a hypothetical present/future context – the project highlights how the perception of nature and “others” has often generated distrust and prejudice fueled by ignorance. These preconceptions need to be overcome to facilitate constructive dialogue while respecting diversity and recognizing the common thread that connects all living beings.
