In Grand Hotel, the Polish-Canadian artist of German origin, Ydessa Hendeles, explores critical themes of cultural identity, migration, intergenerational trauma, and loss, drawing inspiration from the history of persecution and migration of her own family. The exhibition offers an immersive experience that addresses perceptions of cultural identity and otherness within a context reminiscent of The Merchant of Venice and the Jewish Ghetto, focusing particularly on the psychosocial dynamics that govern our world.
