Composer and English musician, a Cambridge graduate in classical music, Jerskin Fendrix has developed a highly recognizable style that merges classical and pop music, creating an experimental and surreal sound experience. In 2020 he released his first album Winterreise (“winter journey”), a project that blends a wide range of genres and instruments with an almost humorous narrative. The album caught the attention of director Yorgos Lanthimos, who in 2021 asked him to compose the soundtrack for his film Poor Things. Released in 2023, it was Lanthimos’s first film to feature a score written specifically for the work.Fendrix believes that precisely because it was a first-time experience for both of them, the
result was so positive – marking just the beginning of their collaboration, which continues with Bugonia.
Young beekeeper Teddy and his best friend are obsessed with conspiracy theories and convinced of one thing: aliens are among us. Their suspicions fall on Michelle Fuller (Emma Stone), powerful CEO of a pharmaceutical giant whom they believe is an alien bent on destroying Earth...
The track breaks the album with noise, electronic and heavily altered sounds, and a digitized voice, creating a time-distortion atmosphere.
Perhaps the most pop-oriented song of the album – extremely danceable, almost party-like.
Bella is a new, naïve yet complex creature who feels the need to understand what is happening both inside and around her; as a listener, you share with her a sense of playfulness and tenderness.
Alexandria is the place where Bella first encounters the concepts of poverty and injustice; the track accompanying the scene is meant to convey the agony she experiences.
