The Sony masterclass, in collaboration with the CSC, takes the audience behind the scenes of Primavera, 606, and Kushta Mayn, with insights from Daria D’Antonio and Tommaso Lusena de Sarmiento, exploring the cinematographic techniques of the Sony VENICE 2.
The island of San Servolo hosts the Sony Masterclass in collaboration with the National Film School of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. A special session features cinematographer Daria D’Antonio (CSC), who discusses her work on Primavera by Damiano Michieletto, shot with the Sony VENICE 2 camera and set in Venice’s largest orphanage, an institution that for centuries trained its most talented young residents in music.
Alongside her, Tommaso Lusena de Sarmiento (CSC) takes the audience behind the scenes of 606, filmed with the Sony VENICE and centered on an investigation into the darkest and most violent aspects of contemporary society. The evening continues with the screening of Kushta Mayn by Nicolò Folin, shot with VENICE 2 by Simone Sadocco, winner of the 2024 CSC Student Awards sponsored by Sony, which explores the theme of forced conversions to Catholicism through the story of two adolescents. The event concludes with a cocktail party.
