From September 5 to November 23, SMAC – San Marco Art Centre hosts The Quantum Effect, an exhibition curated by Daniel Birnbaum and Jacqui Davies with OGR Torino.
A cinematic narrative drawing from both science and the worlds of science fiction and pop culture: this is The Quantum Effect, a highly anticipated new exhibition curated by Daniel Birnbaum and Jacqui Davies, produced and hosted by SMAC – San Marco Art Centre with OGR Torino, running from September 5 to November 23 and opening at the Procuratie Vecchie on September 4. A constellation of artworks, scientific experiments, quantum mechanics equations, and science fiction explores the spatial and temporal paradoxes introduced by quantum theory: parallel universes, time travel, teleportation, supersymmetry, and dark matter.
Featuring artists such as Dara Birnbaum, Ilya Khrzhanovsky, Isa Genzken, Jeff Koons, Mark Leckey, and Marcel Duchamp/Man Ray, The Quantum Effect creates audiovisual portals connecting art, cinema, science, philosophy, and magic.
