alle 10:30

On Thursday, Incroci di Civiltà, Venice International Literature Festival will focus on highly topical themes, exploring identity, freedom, and power dynamics. The day begins with a reflection by Selby Wynn Schwartz on the multiple identities of women, starting with the figure of Sappho, a symbol of modernity that challenges boundaries. This is followed by a meeting with Zainab Entezar, who shares her testimony on the free voices of Afghan women, accompanied by the screening of the docufilm Shot the Voice of Freedom.

In the afternoon, attention shifts to the importance of publishing as a tool of democracy. Luiz Schwarcz, founder of Companhia das Letras, speaks about the crucial role of publishers in supporting a free society. The evening continues with a discussion on the political and technological challenges of our time, with Asma Mhalla and Alexander Baunov reflecting on new forms of power related to technologies and their impact on contemporary political and social structures.
