Ocean Space / TBA21 – Academy hosts the National Gallery of Canada and the Wexner Center for the Arts for a symposium that delves into the themes of the exhibition “Kapwani Kiwanga: Trinket”, at the Canada Pavilion in the Giardini of the Biennale. The exhibition, centered on the historical, commercial, and cultural value of glass beads, reveals the intricate network of exchanges, power structures, and cultural influences underlying history and invites reflection on the lasting impact that transoceanic trade has on our contemporary world.
