Bahar Royaee is a young Iranian composer who has been living in the USA for the last several years. From 2016 to 2020, she explains, she felt isolated, fragmented, and came out of it by going back to her mother language, Farsi, and by reading Yadollah Royaee’s poetry. What came out of it is Muted Stones, her 2023 record that comprises four absolutely beautiful compositions, one of which is Tombstone, for viola solo.
