BIENNALE COLLEGE COREOGRAFI – RESIDUE / A SLOW AND EASY DAY IN VENICE

20th Biennale Danza – Time Does Not Exist
29 July 2026

-

30 July 2026

A reflection on time and memory, in line with the Festival’s theme, runs through the new works by the two winners of the Biennale College Coreografi 2026 call: the Polish duo Julia Bentkowska and Julia Litwin, who co-sign Residue, and Tunisian choreographer based in Brussels Amine Mazhoud, author of A Slow and Easy Day in Venice.

Bentkowska and Litwin, both dancers and choreographers trained between Poznań and Łódź, have worked as a duo for several years, presenting their pieces on international stages such as New York’s SoloDuo Festival. In an earlier work, Mother, they had already explored the relationship between the human body and artificial intelligence, bringing together dance and technology on stage – a field that resonates with the Physical Thinking pathway conceived this year by Wayne McGregor with the College dancers, also grounded in choreographic practices and artificial intelligence.
Mazhoud grew up in Tunis, where he was introduced to urban dance at a very young age. In 2019 he moved to Belgium to study at P.A.R.T.S., the school directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, graduating in 2022 and developing from there his own choreographic language. After three months of close work alongside McGregor and his team – through classes, rehearsals and exchanges with the festival’s guest artists – Bentkowska, Litwin and Mazhoud conclude their trajectory with two works that measure the distance between training and individual artistic voice.
