The 50th. Festival opens with an assoult premiere for Italy, The Lingering Now, by Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy, this year’s awarded with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. The show, staged at Teatro alle Tese on June 24 at 7 p.m. and again on June 25 at 6 p.m., is the second chapter in the Our Odyssey saga after 2018’s Ithaca, which mixes Homeric heroes with today’s fugitives from war, famine, dictatorships and abuse, in search of a seemingly promised land across the Mediterranean Sea.
