SoloPianoJazzFest is the piano festival with which the Laguna Libre wants to accompany the dinners on Saturday evening. A review that involves in this first edition the most important jazz pianists of north-eastern Italy. At the center of attention is the new “Yamaha” C3 baby grand piano that the “Giuseppe Verdi di Venezia” music academy has donated on loan for use to the Cannaregio venue, on which many great pianists will lay their hands. This Saturday an important eclectic pianist Dario Carnovale. Of Sicilian origin, he has lived in Friuli for some years, considered by critics to be one of the best pianists of Italian jazz, virtuoso and volcanic, with an extraordinary sense of lyricism capable of enchanting or overwhelming with an absolutely out of the ordinary musical energy. His album Exit for three, released on December 4, 2010 and produced by the Japanese label Albòrejazz quickly climbed the charts of best-selling jazz records throughout Japan. Winner in 2010 of the award for best soloist at the European jazz contest, winner with his trio of the Barga jazz contest 2010 (the best soloist award went to the drummer of the Dario Carnovale trio, Luca Colussi).
