The second evening of Bissuola Live is dedicated to new Italian singer-songwriting with two talented artists: Mirkoeilcane and Dente. On stage they will alternate in a double set first Mirko Mancini, aka Mirkoeilcane, behind him a critics’ prize at Sanremo and a Tenco prize, followed by Dente, a singer-songwriter who has influenced the contemporary indie pop scene thanks to his poetics and refined sounds. Mirko Mancini, aka Mirkoeilcane, a singer-songwriter from Rome, is engaged in a solo career and at the same time writes lyrics and music for other artists. At Bissuola Live he presents his latest work La musica contemporanea mi butta giù (Contemporary Music Throws Me Down), an album of ironic and elegant songwriting, consisting of twelve tracks that highlight the writing skills of an artist who over the years has made words one of his best weapons.
Dente, born Giuseppe Peveri, is an Italian singer-songwriter, originally from Fidenza and living in Milan. After his militancy as a guitarist in rock/new wave bands, in 2006 he began his solo experience with “Anice in bocca” (Jestrai), an album that helped define the Italian way to lo-fi pop, the poetics of which was brought to fruition in subsequent albums, recognised cults of new Italian songwriting in the 2000s, and then directed towards an exploration of sound dimensions increasingly less characterised by lo-fi aesthetics and more and more marked by a classical and conscious songwriting.
