Resident choreographer at the National Dance Foundation / Aterballetto, and an associate of festival MILANoLTRE and production centre Tanzbüro München, Diego Tortelli “strikes us with a fantastic project Fo:NO and makes us enter the body by way of the throat, for a visceral sound experiment that makes us of beat boxing, identity politics, and dance, in all their complexities” (Wayne McGregor). Tortelli decided to investigate the relationship between voice, body, and identity after his father underwent voice box surgery and he observed how changes in voice affected posture, interaction, and, ultimately, identity.
