At only 30 years of age, Czocher already has a respectable musical career. After graduating from two prestigious music universities – the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold – she became a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and later principal cellist of the Neue Philharmonie in Berlin and soloist of the Szczecin Philharmonic. During those demanding years, Czocher acquired a profound knowledge of the classical repertoire and distinguished herself as a leading cellist. However, it was together with her good friend and Polish pianist Hania Rani that Czocher first ventured into composition. The duo’s first collaborative project, ‘Biała flaga’, truly changed the perspective of the musician, who from focusing exclusively on developing her instrumental skills wanted to express herself more freely; the resulting album was highly acclaimed in Poland and attracted critical attention abroad.
