Earth Seen from Above is the title of a composition by Meredith Monk that will be performed in this concert. In some way, the image also affects the other music of this evening. The word “minimalism”, used with public success and some disappointment among the protagonists, indicated a transformation of expectations in listening. The structure emerges in continuous processes of not evident variations, where the melodic, rhythmic and timbral details take on relief and color. Almost an iridescence in the sky, in an arc that returns on itself to start again differently – or on the earth seen from the sky.
