Palazzo Pisani is one of the most important and majestic buildings in Venice, second in size only to Palazzo Ducale, and since 1897 the seat of the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory. Eliot Fisk was a direct student of Andrés Segovia and studied at Yale University with harpsichordist Ralph Kirkpatrick, graduating summa cum laude in 1976 and establishing the Guitar Department at the Yale School of Music. He is a professor at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg and the New England Conservatory – USA. For more than 50 years he has performed in the most important halls in the world both in solo guitar recitals and with international partners such as the guitarist P. Peña, the flautist P. Robison, the cellist Y. Hanani, the violinists G. Kremer and J. Bell and the Miro, Shanghai and Arditti quartets and many others. Many of his CDs are awarded “best sellers”. He has expanded his guitar repertoire by transcribing works by Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Haydn, Paganini, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Granados, Albeniz for guitar and is the dedicatee of works by internationally renowned composers such as L. Berio, L. Balada, R. Beaser, N. Maw, G. Rochberg and K. Schwertsik among others. His concert will have a particular tribute to Andres Segovia in memory of his presence in the prestigious hall of Palazzo Pisani in 1960.
