Seventh edition of the Endorfine Rosa Shocking Film Festival, an event founded and directed by Laura Aimone dedicated to celebrating women and sport through the power of cinema, with a special opening on 28 September and screenings from 1 to 4 October. The theme of this edition, ‘Throw yourself…’, invites all women to overcome their limits and launch themselves into new adventures with courage and determination. Endorfine Rosa Shocking is now an unmissable event for all film and sports enthusiasts, as well as for those who believe in the strength and talent of women. The festival features a selection of films, documentaries and short films from all over the world, telling stories of female athletes, women’s teams, challenges and triumphs. Each screening will be an opportunity to explore the different facets of women’s sport, with a special focus on stories of resilience and empowerment. The opening night on 28 September will feature a special screening of R. Balki’s Indian film Ghoomer, a Bollywood film about cricket that has been a huge box-office success in India and features a stellar cast (Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi). The opening of the Festival sees the involvement of Venezia Cricket, which supports the organisation of the evening together with Panathlon Mestre and Bioarch Progetti. The opening night will also see the screening of the Israeli short film Swimming Lesson about a group of Bedouin girls who are taught to swim in a ‘pool’ without water. From 1 to 4 October, the festival will continue with a series of daily screenings and meetings with some of their protagonists, offering an immersive and educational experience for all participants.
