Darker than Black is a magnificent example of today’s reserved music, bringing together an ayre by Tobias Hume, the poet-soldier of the Elizabethan age, two short improvisations, on viola da gamba by Eva Reiter and guitar by Tom Pauwels, and closing with a contemporary song. Eva Reiter is an Austrian composer and viola da gamba player who, within this section, will present in the Sansovinian Hall of the Biblioteca Marciana, on October 10th, one of her compositions commissioned by the Biennale Musica, L’étoffe de la Memoire.
