Closing performance of Venice Open Stage 2026, Extinction Rave by Fundaciòn Mis Bragas turns the stage into a performative device that approaches extinction as a biological fact, but above all as a trigger for reflecting on the present. If every species is destined to disappear, the work asks what remains: the habituation, denial and indifference through which humanity continues to confront the environmental crisis and its own finitude.
The performance takes the rave as a symbolic and political space, moving through an imaginary where apathy, collapse and the desire for survival coexist in paradoxical form. Rather than staging a conflict with the environment, Extinction Rave seems to observe its failure, training the gaze on that opaque zone where urgency turns into exhaustion and awareness into indolence.
Founded in 2020, Fundaciòn Mis Bragas is a performance research company working from a strong gender perspective, addressing social, political and environmental urgencies. Through hybrid and contemporary languages, the collective creates performative devices that question the ways we inhabit the world and imagine possible futures.
