The protagonist of this concert, part of The World of César Franck programme, is the cello – an instrument considered improper for female players up to the late 1800s. Music by Marie Jaëll, Henriette Renié, Nadia Boulanger will teach us about the most suggestive, expressive potential of this instrument. Jaëll’s Sonata in A- and Boulanger’s pieces and sonata allow cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière and pianist Théo Fouchenneret offer the audience a chance to appreciate how ample Franck’s influence has been on artists that came after him.
