Georg Vogel is an innovative Austrian jazzman whose 2020 album Between a Rock and a Hard Place represents the latest jazz wave. In it, individual compositional themes frame improvisation and interplay, which is the real essence of this music. Vogel also loves alternative tunings, like the one devised in the 1500s by Gioseffo Zarlino, the greatest musical theorist of the Renaissance and chapel master at St. Mark’s in Venice.
