For almost 20 years, the Italian-French line-up Grimoon has been proposing its highly personal visual and sound research aimed at exploring the contemporary world. Indeed, each of the group’s records has always been accompanied by short films made by the band, works that explore the group’s sonic universe, expanding its boundaries. Grimoon’s very personal touch uniquely blends a sound that fearlessly blends rock, psychedelia and electronics, singing in French, English and Italian, with their evocative animations, mostly made in stop-motion. Their latest album Clair Obscur tells the contemporary drama of migration through the eyes of a child. Alan the young protagonist of the film embarks on a long journey with his father on board a ship/shell, crossing the seas and meeting different characters. The feature film was made entirely by the band in stop-motion animation, animated drawing and paper animation. An evocative and exciting cinema concert.
