The new project by Helga Plankensteiner presents an original formation with three winds from the low register: baritone sax, bass clarinet and tuba. The repertoire is entirely dedicated to compositions by Jelly Roll Morton, the great pioneer who described himself as the “inventor of jazz”. The multi-stylistic arrangements reveal surprising aspects of this genius from the dawn of jazz.
