IL MARCELLO SUONA 2026

Le chalumeau possible

alle 20:30

The concert series featuring students of the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory continues with a new appointment in the Conservatory’s Concert Hall.
The evening’s programme offers a journey between Baroque and twentieth-century repertoire, bringing together different instruments and musical languages: from the rediscovery of the chalumeau, the ancestor of the clarinet, to the chamber music of Paul Hindemith and Claude Debussy.
The concert opens with Silvia Dell’Agnolo on chalumeau and Sara Bandiziol on harpsichord, in a programme dedicated to Georg Philipp Telemann and Georg Friedrich Händel. Through Telemann’s Partitas and the aria Ombra mai fu from Händel’s Serse, the performance brings back the voice of a rare instrument, rediscovered through a philological exploration of its expressive possibilities.
The programme continues with Paul Hindemith’s Sonata for Oboe and Piano, performed by Mikhail Paisov on oboe and Elisabetta Chiarato on piano. Composed in 1938, the work belongs to the series of wind instrument sonatas through which the composer expanded the chamber music repertoire, creating a close dialogue between the two instruments.
The evening concludes with Claude Debussy’s Trio in G major, performed by Serena Bosi on violin, Leonardo Fontolan on cello and Tommaso Franchini on piano. Composed in 1880, when the composer was only seventeen, the work already reveals a remarkable melodic sensitivity and a refined exploration of timbre.
The concert features students of professors Alessandro Baccini, Elena Russo and Cecilia Franchini.

Free admission while seats last.
