On World Ocean Day, the third appointment of the new cycle of itinerant conversations Venice as a model for the future?: the series of meetings entitled The lagoon / has the moon / between its legs / playing ball intends to explore how humans and animals coexist in Venice and its lagoon after sunset, when the wave of day visitors leaves the city and the night birds begin to sing, the lights are turned on on some boats to fish for mullet and cuttlefish and the moon dictates the movement of the tides.
The initiative The rhythm of the night accompanies us among the trees of Sant’Elena in search of scops owl with Emanuele Stival (author, together with Mauro Bon, of the ornithological atlas of the municipality of Venice) of the Venezia Birdwatching association (VE BW ). An initiative useful for understanding how the coexistence of many different species from brackish, coastal, river, forest – or urban environments, such as humans – within the same area is fundamental for the balance of the ecosystem in which we live.
Before the start of the walk, at 8.00 pm, participants are invited to share a convivial moment Suolo Sapido: Halophice-cream, curated by The Tidal Garden in collaboration with Gelatoteca Suso.
