On Saturday, January 25, at 6 PM, the inauguration ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year will take place in the Concert Hall of Palazzo Pisani, home to the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Venice. As per tradition, various academic and institutional authorities will be present to welcome attendees and reflect on the achievements of the past year, including the Conservatory’s delegation to China during the State visit of President Sergio Mattarella. The guidelines and objectives for the new academic year will also be presented, aiming to motivate and inspire the entire academic community as well as the organizations and institutions involved in the life of the Venetian Conservatory. The central part of the ceremony will feature a concert by the Symphony Orchestra composed of students from the Conservatory, conducted by Professor Luisa Russo. The program will include works by Johann Strauss Jr. and Georges Bizet, marking the 200th anniversary of Strauss’s birth and the 150th anniversary of Bizet’s death.
Admission to the ceremony is free, subject to available seating.
