Acid jazz pioneers Incognito will play in Marghera, just outside Venice, on July 21 as part of the Veneto Jazz-sponsored tour. Founded in 1976 in England by Jean-Paul Bluey Maunick, their story is one of evolution and change. The fifteen albums they released over their career is a testimony to their compositional fluidity and tendency to escape labels, with their sound ranging from soul to funk to r ‘n’ b. their latest work, Tomorrow’s New Dream of 2019, is an acid jazz immersion the band created with the help of amazing guest stars. Over the years, Incognito kept true to their muse: a sound that is easy to dance to and to listen to, one that beautifully blends the refinement of jazz with the warmth and sensuality of soul-funk.
