INHABITING CARE: ARCHITECTURES FOR HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS

The Pavilion of the Holy See at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, set within the Santa Maria Ausiliatrice complex, launches its public program with Inhabiting Care: Architectures for Human Relationships. A space emblematic of dialogue between art, spirituality, and the contemporary world hosts this conversation on how architecture can respond to human vulnerability, elevate everyday life, and generate spaces capable of welcoming, connecting, and restoring dignity.
Participants include Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, architects Tatiana Bilbao and Anna Puigjaner – curators of the Pavilion – and Michele De Lucchi, who is also present in Venice with his installation The Sky Above the Portego at the Fondazione Museo Scuola Grande di San Marco, an exploration of care and community through architectural space.
The event offers a choral dialogue, a shared reflection that weaves together ethics, design, spirituality, and the social dimension, in continuity with the spirit that informs the Holy See’s presence at the Biennale.
