Entertain Me! is one of Joris Dudli’s latest projects. Together with Austrian singer Bettina Krenosz, he revisits classic standards alongside original compositions he has written since the 1990s. The concert is structured in two sets, featuring a special lineup of the Unstable Jazz Lab: Michele Magnifichi (alto sax), Martino Fraternali (trumpet), Mario Palushi (piano), and Massimo Parpagiola (tenor sax), with guest appearance by double bassist Daniele Vianello. The expanded band is completed by Wolfgang Dorer, who will step in for Dudli on the duet vocal pieces. A rich ensemble, with engaging arrangements for three horns, explores a repertoire ranging from standards to hard bop and funky grooves throughout the evening. Joris Dudli collaborates regularly with Vincent Herring and David Kikoski, and is increasingly present in Venice for concerts and workshops, most recently in partnership with the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory and the schools Suono Improvviso and Thelonious Monk. Dudli has toured with musicians such as Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Johnny Griffin, Joe Zawinul, Eric Alexander, and Harold Mabern, among others. He also worked extensively with Art Farmer (1977–1985), the Vienna Art Orchestra led by Mathias Rüegg (1977–1985), and the NDR Big Band in Hamburg (1993–1995). Alongside his sideman career, Dudli has established himself as a bandleader, launching projects with outstanding musicians: Earth Jazz with Vincent Herring, Anthony Wonsey, and Richie Goods (2006–2008); his sextet featuring Benny Golson, Vincent Herring, Jeremy Pelt, and Anthony Wonsey; and since 2013 the Soul Jazz Alliance, with Sachal Vasandani, Vincent Herring, Jeremy Pelt, Freddie Bryant, and Jared Gold. Actively committed to keeping jazz a living art form, Dudli frequently returns to Venice for concerts and workshops, sharing joy and soul through his personal repertoire. Bettina Krenosz is an Austrian jazz singer, educator, Estill Master Trainer (EMT), and mental coach based in Vienna. Known for her work with Bettina Krenosz & The Favorite Band, she blends delicate interpretations with powerful jazz vocals drawn from the Great American Songbook. She performs regularly with leading European jazz musicians and recently recorded the acclaimed album Entertain Me! with Joris Dudli, with whom she frequently tours across Europe.
