The Slovakian maestro Juraj Valčuha will conduct the latest masterpiece from Beethoven’s symphonic catalogue, at the head of the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice and with the participation of soprano Federica Lombardi, tenor Michael Schade, mezzo-soprano Veronica Simeoni and bass Mark S Doss choir master Alfonso Caiani. The concert enriches the long and memorable list of great Fenice-branded events that made the history of music and of Piazza San Marco, starting with the staging of Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci back in 1928, passing through the great dance performances such as created in collaboration with the 1972 Biennale entitled Piazza San Marco Event with the Merce Cunningham & Dance Company, the one that featured Maurice Bejart’s Ballet du XXème Siècle in 1975, and the one realized in collaboration with the Municipality of Venice with the Bolshoi of Moscow of 1994.
