Opening at the Franchetti Gallery at Ca’ D’Oro is the video installation L’antro della sirena by Giovanni Pellegrini, a poetic vision of the arrival of the high tide in the Ca’ D’Oro’s hallway, where the sea water establishes a dialogue with the marble mosaic of the floor. The video installation – donated to the Foundation by Ginko Film, in collaboration with the University of Venice – offers visitors to the gallery a view of how high water invades the spaces of the Ca’ D’Oro, one of the city’s oldest buildings, whose ground floor and precious mosaics are covered by the high tide hundreds of times a year. A reflection on the beauty and transience of our world. To celebrate this inauguration on Nov. 12, the Franchetti Gallery will have a special opening with reduced admission from 7 to 10 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., for the opening of the work, director Giovanni Pellegrini and Guido Jaccarino technical director UnisVe will tell the public what happened at the museum in those dramatic days.
