On March 5, 1922, Pier Paolo Pasolini was born in Bologna, one of the greatest and most controversial intellectuals of our twentieth century. A rich and tragic existence and extraordinary eclecticism have distinguished him: Pasolini was an Italian poet, writer, director, screenwriter, actor and playwright. His texts, as well as his interventions in the press of the time, still arouse a wide debate today and are sometimes disconcertingly topical, even for the younger audience. To remember the charismatic figure of Pier Paolo Pasolini, a hundred years after his birth and almost fifty years after his death, Ateneo Veneto invited one of his closest friends, the writer Dacia Maraini. In conversation with Eliana Di Caro, journalist of Sole24Ore, Maraini will recall the friendship, travels, loves, humanity, restlessness and contradictions of this extraordinary protagonist of the twentieth century, as she knew him. A partnership, that between Pasolini, Dacia Maraini and Alberto Moravia, which the writer has also evoked in her recent book Caro Pier Paolo.
