What would happen if A.I. contributed to choreography? Nicole Seiler replies to this question with her work Human in the Loop. A prominent figure of modern dance in Switzerland, Seiler founded her company in Lausanne in 2002. Her research resulted in innovative, original projects in the form of dance, video, film, performance, installation – all actively involving the audience in their interpretation. The artist is fascinated by the interfaces between bodies, new technologies, robotics, and machine learning. Human in the Loop submits AI to a stress test: every morning, computers generate a new piece of choreography, which is then fed to performers via Bluetooth earphones.
