Since instrumental technique is always evolving, writing cello music requires specific knowledge. Many a composer trusted their cellist fellows to fine-tune their creations, which they often dedicated to them. A few examples: Dumas’ Lamento to Raymond Marthe, Lecocq’s Deux pieces to Fernand Pollain, and Huré’s Sonata to Pablo Casals. Tonight, Aurélien Pascal and Josquin Otal will show what we mean.
